LIVE REMOTE PROCTORING (LRP)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Before selecting Live Remove Proctoring (LRP) as your preferred examination format, an alternative to a Pearson VUE center:

  1. Read all the requirements for testing online using a personal computer (LRP)
  2. Run the on the same computer that you will be using for LRP to test for compatibility. You must run the system check prior to your exam to check the compatibility of your computer with the testing application. Failing to do so, may cause delays in your ability to take your exam. Additional information can be found at:

What is Live Remote Proctoring (LRP)?
Live Remote Proctoring allows you to take your certification exam securely from home instead of traveling to a testing center. 果冻传媒offers LRP through the Pearson OnVUE system. The process includes monitoring by a live proctor who observes you throughout your testing experience, as would happen if you were testing at your school or a testing center.

What are the technical requirements for testing via LRP?

Make sure you can meet both technical and location requirements for LRP.

Technical requirements
  • You must run ahead of time to check the compatibility of your computer with the testing application. Additional information can be found at:
  • LRP requires at a minimum: a functioning personal computer, a webcam and microphone for observation during the examination, and a strong internet connection.
Location requirements
  • You are required to test in an enclosed, private space that allows you to maintain a strong and stable internet connection and where you can test without external interruptions.
  • An ideal testing space would allow you to close a door to avoid interruptions.
  • You are not allowed to test at a public location with available Wi-Fi (e.g., an internet caf茅, local coffee shop, or library).

Since I don’t have a personal computer, can I use a laptop or PC from my school or employer?
Taking a live-proctored exam on a shared computer is not advised. While the machine may pass the system test before you schedule your remote proctored exam, there could be a problem during the exam. The Pearson Vue Onvue proctoring program that runs the test does not play well with firewalls or security programs that school or employer computers often need. This is because the Onvue proctoring program is constantly checking to ensure it is the ONLY program running, that you only have one monitor, and your webcam/mic is working.

How do I sign up for LRP vs in-center testing?
Make your choice when you initially apply for either RMA or RPT certification on the 果冻传媒website. After selecting your certification and eligibility route you will see "Please select the examination format you would prefer" and you’ll choose either 1) Online on a personal computer (LRP) or 2) At a Pearson VUE testing center.

How do I schedule my exam?
Once approved to test, go to on the Pearson VUE website and set up an account. This account is separate from your My 果冻传媒Portal. You will schedule your test time and date through your Pearson VUE account.

Can I switch from LRP to testing at a Pearson VUE site or vice versa?
We strongly encourage you to perform a system check and read about the testing experience before you apply. If you need to change your test site selection from LRP to taking your exam at a Pearson VUE site or the other way around—from a Pearson VUE site to LRP—log into My 果冻传媒Portal. Once logged in, click on the "My Applications" tab. Fill out the "Testing Change Form - Active Applicants ONLY" under the "My Status Section". Once submitted, please allow 7-10 business days for 果冻传媒to update your current testing authorization. If you had already scheduled an exam time with Pearson, please be sure to cancel your appointment before submitting the "Testing Change Form."

NOTE: To avoid a missed testing fee, you must cancel any existing Pearson VUE appointment no later than 24 hours before your test date. To make a new appointment, you must wait until you receive your new Authorization to Test notification.
